Welfare

(Back to the committee overview)

Committee Profile

Hey there everyone! We are your JCR welfare reps for this year. Jon is a fun-loving Geographer, who when not colouring-in spends his time coxing on the river and loves singing and live music. Alex is a crazy medic with a penchant for all things glitter and lycra and is also a keen rower. We are here for YOU to make sure your fresher’s week and your time at St Anne’s is as amazing as possible.

We believe Welfare is an important aspect of Stanners life. The sense of community and solidarity within college is one of the best parts about St Anne’s, and it is our job to make you feel part of that community. It’s no secret that moving away from home and spending a few years of your life in Oxford isn’t going to come without its challenges, and therefore if you do have a problem we believe it is important you know where to go to get help. As welfare reps we are approachable at any time, can represent and support you if you need to let your tutors know your situation and we can also advise you on the best course of action to take to tackle your problems. No problem/mountain is high enough! We organise welfare events, like the legendary Cake Nights every term and we’re your port of call for FREE CONDOMS and other such exciting things! :D We look forward to meeting and getting to know you all!
